Why President Trump should love an impeachment trial.
Somehow, I managed to avoid the major Twitter purge of conservative content that occurred last weekend. I took some flesh wounds in the form of 1,000 lost followers but who didn’t right. I watched on as Parler got tossed and bullied out of existence and started rowing for the shores of the last free speech platform standing, GAB.
However, what really fascinates me throughout this censorship drive is the parallel, leftist, mega-drive towards another impeachment of President Trump. To this end, a news story from the New York Times was trending for most of yesterday on Twitter.
The headline read “ McConnell believes that impeachment drive will help rid the GOP of Trump”
Interesting headline I thought, so I dived in to take a closer look. First, let me outline that my feelings about Mitch McConnell are in no way positive. I feel he, Lindsey Graham & other senior GOP figures played President Trump like a fiddle for the past 4 years. Got what they needed and dumped him.
However, The New York Times story in question above has NO SOURCE and admits to having no source in the guts of the article.
What they have instead is a new literary construct. “People familiar with McConnell’s thinking” - I laughed out loud in amazement when I saw that this was the source for their impeachment story. I mean, I myself have spent the guts of two years following Mitch McConnell closely, I could qualify as someone who is familiar with McConnell’s thinking. So could anyone of you reading this most probably. I mean who the fuck isn’t familiar with his thinking after the last year in particular.
So, for the record, I very much doubt McConnell will support the current impeachment drive in public or private. As much as the GOP is destroyed by the anger and disappointment of the MAGA movement directed at it due to the multitude of election irregularities, impeachment would splinter the party completely apart. And Mitch McConnell knows too well, at the moment, he would be in possession of the smallest part of the splintered whole. McConnell is a lot of things but stupid isn’t amongst them.
There is another point over-looked with regard to a second impeachment witch-hunt. President Trump will be salivating to present his defence. Why you might ask?
Well, the main reason is because in the daft and rushed framing of one of the articles of impeachment the democrat legislators put this sentence into the legal text.
“ President Trump repeatedly issued false statements asserting that the Presidential Election results were the products of widespread voter fraud….”
For two months President Trump and his legal team have been trying to get States legislatures, State Courts, Federal & Supreme Courts, National House & Senate forums to listen to his voter fraud claims and evidence. Almost every single entity has walked away from the opportunity to look at his claims.
Unbelievably, in his last week in office the Democrats are handing him the opportunity he so craves. An opportunity to defend his case. An impeachment circus will wreck Biden’s first 100 days in office. Each and every voting irregularity will finally see the light of day and it will make for uncomfortable reading for the new Biden administration.
Mitch McConnell knows this better than anyone. Democrats are over-reaching once again. Not content with the results of 2020 they are trying to ensure that President Trump doesn’t appear again on the horizon in 2024. In doing so they give President Trump the chance he is looking for; an open look at all the evidence his legal team have gathered over the last two months in the battleground states. People ACTUALLY familiar with the thinking of Mitch McConnell will know this is the last thing Mitch McConnell wants, as examination of voter fraud will increase not decrease President Trump’s popularity and furthermore his standing as the Leader of the GOP.
And by the way, in parting, President Trump’s approval rating is rock solid at 49%. After the last seven days, & being censored out of digital existence with no means of come back his support remains an oasis of calm in the midst of the vitriolic turbulence of the left.
